Until employers fully embrace new models, degrees remain the safest path to career success.
University is expensive, time-consuming, and not always necessary. Many graduates leave with crushing debt and few job prospects. In contrast, short intensive bootcamps and self-paced online programs allow people to upskill quickly and affordably. In a world that values results over credentials, it’s time we reassess whether four years of formal study is always the right path.
