Passengers frequently describe the journey as feeling like they are smoothly gliding on ice, totally devoid of the typical bumping associated with conventional rail travel. Born out of pure necessity following the collapse of the country's official railway system, this unofficial transport method is famously chaotic. It consists of a simple bamboo platform powered by a recycled tractor engine, resting loosely on two metal axles. The most unique aspect of the journey occurs when two drivers meet heading in opposite directions on the single track. Because the carriages cannot go backwards, the driver with the lighter load is forced to completely dismantle their vehicle, carry the wooden pieces into the bushes to let the heavier one pass, and then rebuild it again.

In an effort to drastically reduce toxic emissions and solve severe traffic congestion, this European capital recently invested heavily in subterranean travel. Planners excavated a vast network of brightly lit, temperature-controlled tunnels exclusively reserved for cyclists and pedestrians. This completely separates vulnerable riders from heavy motorized traffic, virtually eliminating road accidents involving bicycles. A sophisticated ventilation system ensures that the air quality remains pristine, even during the humid summer months. The project has proven so massively popular with residents that the entrance ramps are often heavily congested during the morning rush hour, leading city officials to desperately draw up plans to widen the main arterial routes much sooner than originally anticipated.
