The Niagara Falls is the group name of three big waterfalls on the Niagara River in eastern North America, on the border between the United States and Canada. The three waterfalls are by different names, which are quite interesting. Firstly, there are the Horseshoe Falls, sometimes called the Canadian Falls, which have the same as a horseshoe, and these are the biggest of the three. The American Falls come next in , and then the smaller falls are called the Bridal Veil Falls. The American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls are by a small piece of land called Goat Island, and Luna Island lies between the Bridal Veil Falls and the other waterfalls. The Niagara Falls were when glaciers receded at the end of the ice age, and water from the newly formed Great Lakes cut a path on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. Although not very high, the Niagara Falls is very wide, and is probably the most waterfall in the world. It is especially for people on their honeymoon, and many people go there when visiting Canada.
