Bees are small insects that (0) PLAY a very important role in nature. Without them, many of the fruits and vegetables we eat would not exist. As bees fly from flower to flower to collect nectar, they also pollen, and this helps plants to produce seeds.
There are thousands of different of bees, but the most famous is probably the honeybee. Honeybees live in large colonies and together to build a hive. Each bee has a specific job: some look the young, others clean the hive, and others fly out to find food.
Unfortunately, bee populations been falling in many parts of the world. Scientists believe that pollution, climate change and the use of certain chemicals in agriculture are the main reasons. Many governments and organisations are now working to protect bees, because their survival is closely to ours.
