Moving to a new city is an experience that can be both exciting and difficult at the same (0) TIME. When I accepted a new job in Valencia last year, I knew that my life was about to change completely. I had lived in the same small town since I was a child, so the idea of starting somewhere new was a little frightening.
The first few weeks were the hardest. I had to get to the noise of the traffic, the size of the supermarkets and the fact that nobody knew my name. I often felt tired and a little lonely, especially in the evenings. Luckily, a colleague at work invited me to a local Spanish class, and that changed everything.
In the class, I met people from many different countries who were going the same experience as me. We soon became friends and started to explore the city together at weekends. Little little, Valencia began to feel like home. Looking back, I realise that moving was the best decision I have ever It taught me that a new place can scare you at first, but it can also help you to grow.
