Amadeu, from the Ivory Coast, speaks a most no English and would like to study hard for six months to get a recognized qualification. He'll be happiest living outside London in a hostel with other students.
5. Carmen
Carmen, from Spain. wants to bring her two daughters aged 9 and 11 to a school at tie seaside for Iwo weeks in July. It's important they enjoy themselves while improving their English.
This school has just opened in London with the aim of providing English classes (30 hours per week) from July to September for students from other countries going to study at British universities. Students stay with English families or in a student hostel.
This school in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh has courses for students who need to use English in their work. There are courses in English for business, for tourism, and for health service workers. Courses are available throughout the year. Rooms with local families can be arranged.
